Keeping in view the develop the traditional tenets of Gurmat Sangeet , Department for Gurmat Sangeet was inaugurated by Pracheen Kala Kendra at its Chandigarh Complex on 14th December 2019. Kendra  having privileged to bestow by introducing diplomas in Gurmat Sangeet in different categories under the names of Sangeet Prarambhik -Gurmat Sangeet, (2 years course & exam), Sangeet Bhushan-Gurmat Sangeet (3 years), Sangeet Visharad-Gurmat Sangeet , (4 and 5 years) and Sangeet Bhaskar-Gurmat Sangeet pratham khand and purna , (2 years course and exam).

The main object of the Kendra is to follow, preach, revive and to develop the traditional tenets of Gurmat Sangeet and also to maintain the dignity, usage as well old tradition of kirtan prevailing in Sikh religion by providing appropriate education of Gurmat Sangeet on the basis of academic level. The Kendra will provide a proper ritual education of Gurmat Sangeet practically as well theoretically to the students by opening different branches around the country and the said teaching of Gurmat Sangeet shall be strictly as per the rehat maryada of Sikh religion. The main thrust of the Kendra in these diplomas is to provide education to the students to teach technique to pronounce and memories the Gurbani with all proficiency and to sing the Gurmat Sangeet only and only based upon nirdharit raga’s of Shri Guru Granth Sahib. The Kendra is also taking privilege to promote recital of Gurbani on the basis of prevailing string instruments i.e Rabab, Dilruba, Taus, Saranda, Israj to maintain and revive the old Rababi tradition.

The Kendra has appointed Dr. Malkit Singh Jandiala, as Honorary Head of the Department of Gurmat Sangeet, Pracheen Kala Kendra, who is committed to serve honorary services for the development and promotion of Gurmat Sangeet through these courses around the world Pracheen Kala Kendra also organizing Gurmat Sangeet Baithaks every month at its Chandigarh compex.

Rules for learning Gurmat Sangeet--:(For centre holders only)

THE SPECIFIC RULES OF THE SYLLABUS OF GURMAT SANGEET
(AS PER THE APPROVED ORDINANCE NO. 8 OF THE DEARTMENT OF GURMAT SANGEET, PRACHEEN KALA KENDRA, CHANDIGARH)

1: In continuation to rules and regulations of ordinance no. 8 further amended rules and regulations ’commenced and invoked on 14th day of December, 2019’ for fixation and grant of examination Centre of Gurmat Sangeet of Pracheen Kala kendra, Chandigarh are as under :-

2: The teachings/education of Gurmat Sangeet by the examination Centre/s affiliated or fixed by the department of Gurmat Sangeet, Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh shall be strictly in accordance with the “Rehat Maryada” of Sikhs Code of Conduct and Conventions;

3: Any human being, who faith fully believes in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, is entitled to learn/teach and shall entitled to appear in the examinations of Gurmat Sangeet conducted by the Department of Gurmat Sangeet, Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh at the examination Centre approved by the department of Gurmat Sangeet, Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh;

4: The examination shall be held only within the prescribed syllabus of department of Gurmat Sangeet of Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, which has been prepared and finalized as per the traditional “Kirtan Maryada” and tenets of Sikh religion;

5: Neither the teachers/staff members and students shall permitted to use or intake any kind of intoxication like cannabis, opium, liquor, tobacco, etc etc during the teaching and learning place of the Centre of Gurmat Sangeet allotted/affiliated to department of Gurmat Sangeet, PKK, Chandigarh;

6: The teachers/staffs and students shall cover their head with a clean cloths and to remove the shoes, while teaching and learning of Gurmat Sangeet at the Centre allotted/affiliated by the department of Gurmat Sangeet, PKK, Chandigarh;

7: The teaching and examination place/s shall be very neat and clean and there shall adequate arrangement of sitting for the students at the Centre for providing teaching or examination of Gurmat Sangeet.

8: The Gutka’s/Pothie’s and other holly books related to Gurbani shall be kept at the auspicious and clean place of the Centre by maintaining full faith, dignity and respect;

9: The teaching of Gurmat Sangeet shall be only on the basis of Raga’s of Gurbani described in Shri Guru Granth Sahib or Guru Gobind Singh's hymns and may be of the composition of Bhai Gurdas and Bhai Nand Lal ji;

10: The in-charge of the Centre shall send the day to day activities of the Centre during teaching classes and examinations of Gurmat Sangeet Centre at Mobile/Whatsapp No. 8699681857 of Department of Gurmat Sangeet, PKK, Chandigarh;

11: These Rules and Regulations shall be displayed by the in charge of the Centre at the outer entrance door of the Centre for its strict compliance;

12: The Department of Gurmat Sangeet, Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh shall cancel the permission of Centre of Gurmat Sangeet, forthwith, without any prior notice, if any person/s or Centre/s found disobeyed the above said terms and conditions and name of Centre shall be deleted forever from the roll of PKK, Chandigarh.

13: Any decision passed under the Ordinance 8 of the department of Gurmat Sangeet, Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh shall be deemed to be a final.

 

Kendra is providing Free Gurmat Sangeet Classes  for interested students  in the Chandigarh Complex of the Kendra
