The 13th Guru Madan Lal Koser Award instituted by Pracheen Kala Kendra to honour excellence in the performing and visual arts, was presented at a glittering ceremony held at Tagore Theatre on 18th February 2017.
The prestigious award, which carries a cash prize of ₹1 lakh, a shawl, a citation, and a memento, was conferred upon world-renowned vocalist Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty for his lifetime contribution to the promotion and dissemination of Indian classical music.
The Chief Guest for the evening was Shri M.P. Singh, Principal Secretary to the Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, who presented the award. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Kendra’s Governing Body members, led by Chairman Shri S.K. Monga, Registrar Dr. Shobha Koser, Secretary Shri Sajal Koser, and several other Executive and General Body members. The evening culminated with a captivating vocal recital by the maestro himself.

At a glittering ceremony held on February 28, 2015, at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh, the award was conferred upon Santoor virtuoso Padma Shri Pandit Satish Vyas for his exceptional artistic contribution to the field of Santoor playing. The event was graced by Chairman Shri S.K. Monga, Registrar Guru Shobha Koser, Secretary Shri Sajal Koser, and esteemed members of the Governing Body of Pracheen Kala Kendra.
Pandit Satish Vyas received a cash award of ₹1 lakh, along with a memento, a shawl, and a citation, in recognition of his remarkable achievements and lifelong dedication to classical music.

This year, the honour was conferred posthumously upon the legendary Kathak maestro, Guru Kundan Lal Gangani, at a glittering ceremony held on February 22, 2014, at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh.
The Chief Guest, General V.P. Malik (Retd.), former Chief of Army Staff, presented the award, which comprised a memento, a shawl, a citation, and a cash prize of ₹1 lakh. The evening concluded with a captivating performance by the eminent sons and disciples of Guru Kundan Lal Gangani, paying a heartfelt tribute to the legacy of their revered Guru.

The 9th edition of the Guru Madan Lal Koser & Guru Shobha Koser Award, instituted by Pracheen Kala Kendra to honour the creativity, devotion, and enduring legacy of its founders, Guru Shobha Koser and the late Guru Madan Lal Koser, was held at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh, on February 20, 2013.
This year, the prestigious award was presented to Santoor maestro Pandit Bhajan Sopori and renowned Kathak exponent Guru Shovana Narayan for their outstanding lifetime contributions to the promotion of Indian classical music and dance. Each award carried a cash prize of ₹51,000, along with a memento, a shawl, and a citation. The awards were conferred by Shri Jagannath Pahadia, Governor of Haryana, in a glittering ceremony that celebrated artistic excellence.
The evening concluded with mesmerizing performances by the honoured maestros. Pandit Bhajan Sopori enthralled the audience with his Santoor recital, accompanied by Akram Khan on Tabla. Guru Shovana Narayan’s captivating Kathak performance was enhanced by the accompaniment of Shakeel Ahmed Khan on Tabla, Madho Prasad on vocals, Vijay Sharma on Sitar, and technical support by Nitin Jain.
