Art Exhibition – Aangan Se Canvas Tak

Some exhibitions are remembered not merely for the paintings they display, but for the stories they quietly unfold—the stories of passion nurtured over years, creativity shaped by experience, and emotions transformed into timeless works of art.

Pracheen Kala Kendra warmly invites art lovers to “Aangan Se Canvas Tak”—a thoughtfully curated Art Exhibition celebrating Srajan • Sanvedna • Saundarya, where four accomplished women artists come together to present their unique artistic voices. Each canvas reflects a deeply personal journey, weaving together tradition, imagination, cultural heritage, and contemporary expression into a rich visual experience.

The exhibition will be open from 7th to 9th August, 2026, between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM, offering visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in a vibrant celebration of colour, creativity, and artistic excellence.

We are honoured to welcome the acclaimed artist Sh. Sikander Singh Ji as the Chief Guest for the inauguration of the exhibition on 7th August, 2026 at 12:00 Noon, adding grace and inspiration to this special occasion.

The exhibition features the remarkable works of Mrs. Mukta Sud, a self-taught Madhubani artist whose intricate compositions draw from the rich folk traditions of Mithila, celebrating nature, mythology, and India’s enduring cultural heritage. Alongside her are the expressive creations of Mrs. Snehalata Jena, a distinguished alumna of Pracheen Kala Kendra and an inspiring art educator, whose paintings capture the quiet beauty of nature and everyday life with warmth and sensitivity.

Also exhibiting are the evocative works of Mrs. Kadambari Vardhan, recipient of the Best Women Achiever Award in Kala & Sanskriti, whose artistic vision is deeply rooted in India’s cultural and spiritual legacy while embracing contemporary expression. Completing this inspiring quartet is Mrs. Surekha Sardana, an alumna of Pracheen Kala Kendra, Panjab University, and Government College for Women, Chandigarh, whose five-decade artistic journey reaches a memorable milestone as she presents this special exhibition in celebration of her 75th year—a heartfelt tribute to lifelong dedication, creativity, and perseverance.

Come, not merely to visit an exhibition, but to experience a space where every brushstroke carries a story, every canvas reflects a lifetime of inspiration, and every work of art reminds us that creativity has the extraordinary power to preserve memories, celebrate heritage, and connect hearts across generations.

Pracheen Kala Kendra cordially invites artists, students, art enthusiasts, and the general public to be a part of this inspiring celebration of artistic expression and discover how every journey from Aangan Se Canvas Tak becomes a timeless work of art.

  • 321st Monthly Baithak Programme – Chandigarh Chapter (Sitar Recital)

321st Monthly Baithak Programme – Chandigarh Chapter (Sitar Recital)

There are traditions that endure not by spectacle, but by quiet continuity—by being lovingly preserved, thoughtfully shared, and sincerely experienced.

For over two and a half decades, the Monthly Baithaks of Pracheen Kala Kendra, organised with the constant support of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, have served as an intimate and meaningful platform for Indian classical music

These gatherings bring artistes and listeners into close artistic संवाद, allowing the music to unfold in its purest and most contemplative form, much as it has been heard in traditional baithaks for generations.

It is in this spirit that you are warmly invited to the ‘321st Monthly Baithak Programme’, featuring a Sitar Recital by Dr. Umesh Kumar (B-High Grade Artist, All India Radio), accompanied on Tabla by Shri Rajneesh Dhiman (B-High Grade Artist, All India Radio).

Dr. Umesh Kumar, known for his refined artistry and deep engagement with the traditions of Indian classical music, will present an evening of melodic depth and expressive nuance, while Shri Rajneesh Dhiman will provide the rhythmic support and sensitivity that a sitar recital so beautifully invites.

Whether you arrive as a lifelong connoisseur, a student of the arts, or simply with an open heart, may this baithak offer what the finest music often does—not merely an evening of listening, but a moment of stillness, reflection, and shared remembrance.
