The guitar is one of the most expressive and universally loved instruments in the world. From the gentle fingerpicking of a classical piece to the driving rhythm of a folk song, it has a voice for every mood and every moment. And unlike many instruments, the guitar rewards you early — within a few weeks of beginning, most students are already playing something that sounds and feels like music. At Pracheen Kala Kendra, Guitar classes offer a structured, encouraging environment where beginners and developing players alike can build real skill — not just strum along, but truly understand and own what they are playing. Our classes combine technical foundation with musical enjoyment, so that every lesson feels like progress.

Acoustic or Electric?

Our classes accommodate both acoustic and electric guitar learners. For beginners, we generally recommend starting on acoustic — it builds finger strength more effectively and requires no additional equipment. Students interested in electric guitar are welcome to discuss this with their instructor at the time of enrolment, and the curriculum adapts accordingly.

Who These Classes Are For

Our Fine Arts classes welcome:

• Children (ages 5 and above) — The guitar is an excellent first instrument for children. It builds coordination, musical ear, concentration, and creative expression. Small or three-quarter-size guitars are recommended for younger beginners and guidance on instruments is provided at enrolment.
• School and college students — Perhaps the most natural age to pick up the guitar. Our classes channel that enthusiasm into structured learning so students develop genuine skill alongside their love for the instrument.
• Working professionals — Many of our adult students come to guitar as a way to reclaim something creative in a busy life. Evening batches are available specifically to accommodate working schedules.
• Senior learners — It is absolutely possible to learn the guitar as an adult. Many of our most dedicated students began in their thirties, forties, and beyond. Patience is an advantage here, not a handicap.
• Students preparing for examinations — Those wishing to appear for Pracheen Kala Kendra’s formal examinations in Guitar can enrol on the diploma track and receive targeted preparation from our faculty.

No prior musical experience or knowledge of notation is needed to begin.
